Leftover Easter Egg Dye

If you have leftover dye from decorating Easter Eggs, you might be in the habit of dumping it right down the drain. This year, for the first time, it occurred to me, just as I was cleaning up, that I wanted to dye more noodles for our sensory bags and art projects…

I bet you can guess what came next!
All I did was dumped some different noodles into the egg dye cups, let them sit for about 5 minutes, and then spread them out to dry.

We use noodles for beading on string for necklaces, gluing to color collages, and even sticking in our playdough to make spikey dough.

Additionally, we used some of the dye to sort of tie dye some of our old washcloths that are kind of stained, but are only used for tidying up anyway. So far they seem to be good, but I’ll update to let you know if I end up turning my windowsills blue when I dust! 🙂

If you have any fun uses for leftover dye, share below!
